Safe, positive environments are essential factors of student learning and achievement. While schools in America strive for high academic performance, they often struggle to design and implement successful, cost-effective social programs. This comprehensive, easy-to-use guide tells educators everything they need to know about planning, implementing and evaluating schoolwide change that is appropriate for their school culture.
Safe, Supportive and Successful Schools Step by Step is a "cookbook" for planning and funding three levels of school improvement:
(1) Schoolwide programs focusing on the social, ethical and emotional development of ALL students,
(2) Early interventions for SOME students who have minor behavioral programs, and
(3) intensive interventions for those FEW students who experience significant emotional and behavioral disorders.
